The brief:

The NHS Trusts have recognized that uninsulated equipment is a major source of energy waste.

Traditionally all pipework is insulated. However, connected equipment is sometimes overlooked.

The solution

Plate heat exchanger jackets reduce energy lost through radiation, saving money and making the local environment within the plantroom bearable. Nobody wants to work in a hot plantroom. Plus, an added benefit of protecting the workforce from hot surfaces. Based on these factors and the service life of the equipment, it is always more cost-effective to insulate a plate heat exchanger.

Plate heat exchangers and domestic hot water packages can be supplied with insulation jackets, but this is not guaranteed, also Jackets can become damaged or lost over time. Working in partnership with NHS trusts, all heat exchanger we service on their sites are measured for new jackets. Our 25-50mm grey, silicone-coated jackets are supplied with Velcro fastening for quick removal and fitting, making them suitable for ongoing maintenance.
